With less than a month to go before the big event, Lille city council has revealed the full programme for the Braderie de Lille 2025. Between the flea market, cultural entertainment, sporting events and concerts, this edition promises to be packed with surprises. Here is an overview of what awaits you on 6 and 7 September.
Saturday 6 September: opening day
8:00am: official opening of the Braderie. The first bargain hunters hit the city centre streets. More than 10,000 exhibitors are spread across the entire perimeter. Check the interactive map to locate the different zones.
10:00am: start of the Braderie half-marathon from the Champ-de-Mars esplanade, near the Vauban Citadel. Over 8,000 runners are expected for this emblematic race through Lille's finest neighbourhoods. Discover the route and registration details on our dedicated half-marathon page.
11:00am–6:00pm: entertainment in the children's village, Place de la République. Creative workshops, puppet shows, giant wooden games and face painting for the little ones.
2:00pm: parade of giants through the city centre streets. The Giants of the North, iconic figures of regional folklore, process along the main thoroughfares accompanied by brass bands.
6:00pm–2:00am: concerts and DJ sets on three stages: Grand'Place (pop and variety), Place du Théâtre (jazz and world music) and Wazemmes (electronic music and rock). Free admission.
Sunday 7 September: the big day
6:00am: stalls reopen (many never closed overnight). This is the prime time for early-bird bargain hunters who take advantage of the relative calm to find the best deals.
9:00am: opening of the Comic Book Fair in the Vieux-Lille neighbourhood. Author signings, sales of original artwork and exchanges between comic book enthusiasts.
12:00pm–3:00pm: peak time for moules-frites. Terraces are packed and the piles of mussel shells begin to grow. Book in advance or head away from the Grand'Place to avoid the wait. Our recommendations on the restaurants page.
3:00pm: Ch'ti entertainment on the Grand'Place. Introduction to the Ch'ti dialect, traditional dance demonstrations and tasting of regional specialities.
6:00pm: official closing of the Braderie. Exhibitors begin packing up. This is the ultimate moment for last-ditch negotiations at slashed prices.
Themed markets
This year, several themed areas have been set up within the Braderie. The makers' market offers jewellery, ceramics and illustrations by local artists in the Saint-Michel neighbourhood. The vintage village, set up on Rue Solferino, brings together specialists in retro furniture and decor. The antique book market takes up residence in the streets of Vieux-Lille.
Practical information
