Just one week to go before Europe's largest flea market! The Braderie de Lille 2025 will open its doors on Saturday 6 September at 8am. Whether you are a regular or a first-time visitor, here is a last-minute summary to make sure you are perfectly prepared.
The essentials to remember
- Dates: Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September 2025
- Times: Saturday 8am – Sunday 6pm (stalls remain open all night)
- Area: the entire Lille city centre, from Lille-Flandres station to the Citadel, from Vieux-Lille to Wazemmes
- Access: fully pedestrianised city centre, favour the metro (lines 1 and 2) or the tramway
- Exhibitors: more than 10,000 spread over 100 km of pavements

Last-minute checklist
Is your Braderie bag ready? Check that you have:
- Cash in small denominations (ATMs empty quickly)
- Comfortable, well-worn shoes
- A sturdy backpack for your purchases
- A refillable water bottle
- Sun cream and a hat (the forecast is sunny)
- Your fully charged phone with the Braderie map downloaded
- A portable battery pack (searching for signal in the crowd drains batteries)
Transport: the final adjustments
Ilevia has confirmed the special Braderie transport arrangements. The metro will run continuously from Saturday 5:30am to Sunday 1:00am. Reinforced night buses will then take over. If you are coming by car, be sure to read our article on parking to avoid any unpleasant surprises. Road closures begin on Friday evening.
Weather and clothing
The weather forecast for the weekend looks mild with temperatures around 22-25°C. Nevertheless, bring a light waterproof jacket: in the North, a shower is always possible. Dress in layers to adapt to temperature changes between day and night.
Accommodation: last-minute options
If you have not yet booked, there are still a few options. Towns in the metropolitan area (Roubaix, Tourcoing, Villeneuve-d'Ascq) still have availability at more affordable rates and are connected by metro. Private rental platforms may also throw up some surprises. Check our accommodation guide.
Safety and useful numbers
The prefecture has put in place enhanced security measures. Bag checks are carried out at the entrances to the perimeter. Favour a small bag to speed up the checks. In case of any problem, first aid posts are spread throughout the route and identifiable by their green cross.
