Complete guide to obtaining your stand and selling at Europe's largest flea market on 5 and 6 September 2026.

Reserve a pitch at the Lille Braderie

Why reserve a pitch at the Lille Braderie?

The Lille Braderie is Europe's largest flea market. Every year, on the first weekend of September, over two million visitors walk the streets of Lille in search of bargains. For sellers, it is a unique opportunity to clear out unused items, earn a bit of money and enjoy a convivial and festive experience. In 2026, the Braderie will take place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September, and registration to reserve a pitch will open in spring.

Whether you are a Lille resident or coming from elsewhere, it is entirely possible to participate as a seller. However, the procedures differ depending on your status. This guide explains everything you need to know to reserve your pitch at the Lille Braderie 2026.

The two categories of sellers

Lille City Hall distinguishes between two main categories of sellers at the Braderie:

1. Residents (Lille locals)

If you live in Lille and wish to sell outside your home, you benefit from a priority right. You can set up your stand directly in front of your residence, without going through a ballot. The procedures are simplified, but prior registration remains mandatory.

See the complete guide for residents

2. Non-residents (external participants)

If you do not live in Lille or wish to sell in a different location from your home, you must enter a ballot organised by City Hall. As spaces are limited, selection is done randomly from all registered applicants.

Tips for first-time sellers

If this is your first time at the Lille Braderie as a seller, here are our recommendations for a successful experience:

  • Register early: as soon as registration opens, submit your application. Places go quickly, especially for non-residents.
  • Prepare your goods in advance: sort, clean and label your items. A well-presented stand attracts more buyers.
  • Bring change: many transactions are done in cash. Have a sufficient float of small notes and coins.
  • Bring the necessary equipment: a folding table, a protective tarpaulin (in case of rain), bags for customers, a head torch for night-time selling and something to sit on comfortably.
  • Stay vigilant: the crowd is dense. Watch your merchandise and personal belongings at all times. Never leave your stand unattended.
  • Be flexible on prices: bargaining is part of the Braderie spirit. Set your prices slightly above your minimum acceptable level.
  • Enjoy the atmosphere: the Lille Braderie is also a festive event. Don't hesitate to chat with your neighbouring stallholders and passers-by.
