This is it. In a few hours the Braderie de Lille 2026 will officially open its aisles. The city has tipped over, the streets are closing, the first stallholders are setting up. Here is the full picture before the start on Saturday 5 September at 8am.
What is happening today
From late afternoon, the city centre area is progressively closed to traffic. Stallholders take over the pavements, residents bring out their tables, and terraces spread onto the roadway. Our article on Friday evening describes this very particular shift.
If you are already here, take the chance to scout your area without the crowds. An hour of reconnaissance tonight is worth two hours of wandering tomorrow.
How tomorrow unfolds
Official opening Saturday at 8am, though the most determined hunters are in the streets well before. The half-marathon sets off in the morning, the music stages start in the afternoon, and the activity continues all night. On Sunday the Braderie resumes at 8am and closes at 6pm.

Arriving at the right moment
For the best deals, aim for the 8am opening, or even slightly before. For a quieter atmosphere, prefer early Sunday afternoon. And if you are travelling from far away, favour the train or a park-and-ride: reaching the centre by car tomorrow is an illusion.
