Shopping in Lille: The Best Shopping Streets and Centres

Shopping in Lille

Lille has always been a city of commerce. From rue de Béthune to Euralille, through the independent boutiques of Old Lille, the metropolis offers a complete shopping experience. And while the Braderie is the temple of second-hand bargains, Lille's shops have nothing to envy compared to France's other major cities.

Rue de Béthune: the main shopping street

Pedestrianised and bustling, rue de Béthune is the backbone of Lille's retail scene. Over 400 metres, major brands follow one another in a constant flow of strollers. During the Braderie, this street is one of the busiest, with stalls interspersed between shop windows.

Euralille: the next-generation shopping centre

Situated between Lille-Flandres and Lille-Europe stations, Euralille is one of the largest shopping centres in the North. With over 120 shops and restaurants, it offers an air-conditioned alternative to street shopping. Ideal for rainy days or for a shopping break during a TGV journey.

Old Lille: charming boutiques

Old Lille is the neighbourhood of independent boutiques and creators. Rue de la Grande Chausse and rue Esquermoise are home to concept stores, fashion boutiques, art galleries and fine food shops. The atmosphere is more intimate and the finds more original than in the city centre.

Markets and flea markets

Beyond the Braderie, Lille offers markets all year round. Neighbourhood flea markets, spring car boot sales and creators' markets complement an already rich commercial offering. For vintage shopping fans, the charity shops of the Wazemmes neighbourhood are must-visit addresses.
